springing forward together

springing forward together

Solving the youth mental health crisis will take an ecosystem of mental health champions working together. That’s why we are thrilled to announce a budding partnership between Our Minds Matter (OMM) and Active Minds. By making Active Minds materials available directly to OMM clubs through our club portal, we will expand the resources available to teens in the OMM network. We’ll also avoid duplicating each other’s efforts so we can devote more time and energy to impact. And we’ll plant the seeds for future collaborations to increase our impact on the community and young people we serve.

Active Minds is a leading mental health nonprofit dedicated to awareness, education, and suicide prevention for young adults. Through its K-12 initiatives, the organization equips middle and high school students with the knowledge and skills to elevate the conversation about mental health and advocate for mental health policies and programs in their schools and communities. Active Minds K-12 programming and the OMM club model share a commitment to teen leadership and empowerment — and faith that young people themselves are the best ones to lead the way to a new culture of well-being for youth mental health.

Through this partnership, Our Minds Matter clubs can access the Active Minds Peer-Powered Mental Health Curriculum directly through the OMM club portal. The Peer-Powered Mental Health Curriculum is rooted in mental health literacy and social-emotional development across five focus areas:

  • Action
  • Education
  • Awareness
  • Connections
  • Community

This is an exciting first step in working together. We are committed to continuous collaboration to advance our shared mission of saving lives and supporting young people for years to come.

Let’s sow the seeds of change and watch our collective efforts bloom.

P.S. Have you heard about the new “stop, drop, and roll” for emotional support?
