- Help students connect by finding things they have in common
- Get everyone involved and having fun
- Give students a chance to relax their minds and bodies
- In this activity, you’ll either group up in blobs with people you have something in common with, or line up in a certain order.
- Here are some sample prompts:
- Blobs: (Group together with people who share something with you)
- Find people who have the same birthday month as you
- Make 3 groups: No siblings, 1 sibling, or more than 1 sibling
- Group with people who have the same favorite season
- Group with people wearing the same color shoes
- Group with people who love the same food (the leader can pick the foods)
- Group with people who like the same type of TV show
- Lines: (Line up in a certain order)
- Line up in order of your birthdays (January to December)
- Line up in ABC order by your first name
- Line up from the darkest to the lightest colored shirts
- Blobs: (Group together with people who share something with you)
- Feel free to come up with your own fun prompts—but make sure no one feels left out!
- Go back to your seat and chat with the person next to you. What’s something cool or surprising you learned about someone today?
- Check to make sure all students are able to move around easily. If someone has trouble moving, you might want to choose a different activity that doesn’t require moving around.
