Our Minds Matter at Abington Senior High School recently held a presentation titled “Queer People and Mental Health.” This was a joint initiative with their school’s GSA chapter to talk about how queer identity and experiences impact mental health.
Student leaders from both clubs joined forces to raise awareness of issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community and to provide mental health resources to students in their community. They invited a therapist who works with LGBTQ+ youth to provide more insight into the experience of queer youth mental health from a clinician’s perspective. This meeting drew 50 students from their school!
Way to go raising awareness and making ripples of change in your school @omm_abington!
