OMM Attends 2nd Annual Wellbeing at Work

On Tuesday, Dec 3, OMM team members Laura Beth Levitt and Sean Roberts attended the 2nd Annual Wellbeing at Work event curated by The Mental Health Coalition. Mental health professionals, influencers, creators, executive leaders, and advocates from all over convened in New York City to engage on the topic “mental health in times of uncertainty.”

About Well-Being at Work

Wellbeing at Work is an initiative spearheaded by The Mental Health Coalition to cultivate healthier, more productive workplaces nationwide, equipping individuals with the tools to thrive both within and beyond the workplace. Wellbeing at Work involves corporations committing to advancing, supporting, and sharing mental health best practices in the workplace.

The event was kicked off by actor/producer, Will Reeve who served as the MC. After sharing a bit about his journey with his own mental health, he introduced Mental Health Coalition founder, acclaimed fashion designer and social activist, Kenneth Cole. Cole spoke about the importance of the work that MHC is doing and what drives his commitment to continuing to bring about awareness on mental health.

Other notable presenters included internationally recognized speaker/author Hakeem Rahim, who recited a stirring original poem inspiring hope and encouraging resilience. Former NYC Commissioner of Health, Ashwin Vasan urged the importance of breaking the stigma and approaching mental health with the same urgency and intentionality we do in other areas of public health.

Dr Kathy Pike of One Mind at Work moderated a panel discussion with a group of mental health advocates from various arenas, all who expounded on their own journeys and what strategies and tools they believe will improve mental health outcomes in our workplaces and in our society.

To close out the event, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, Rachel Platten shared her very personal story of battling through mental health challenges. She spoke to how as an artist, her own experience is what encouraged her to use her platform to bring about hope & awareness. She closed her segment with her acclaimed “Fight Song”.

While the group of attendees and presenters was diverse in profession, background, and perspective, there remained a strong sense of alignment and solidarity in amplifying the need to better prioritize mental health in our workplaces.  OMM was proud to be represented!

Take Action:

  • Take the Wellbeing @ Work Pledge – This is completely free and each month, organizations will receive resources from the MHC focused on workplace mental health.
  • Give for Workplace Benefits  – Fostering mental health and well-being isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s the key to unlocking the full potential of your workforce. Studies show that prioritizing mental health leads to increased productivity, reduced absenteeism, and higher employee satisfaction. By creating a culture where mental health is supported, companies see a direct return on their investment: happier employees, stronger teams, and better business outcomes.
