This was the first year that Poe Middle School in Annandale, VA ran a Stress Less, Laugh More Week and it was a huge success. JAF provided Laugh More buttons and Benefits of Laughter postcards.

Daily Themes & Activities:

Monday:

• During lunch: Graffiti Wall in cafeteria
• Stress Less, Laugh More and Positive Message posters on walls: students write their own positive message
• Teachers receive Laugh More buttons to wear all week

Tuesday:

• During lunch: Stress-O-Meter and How Do You Relieve Stress in cafeteria
• All participating students can enter to win raffle prize – drawing on Thursday
• Teachers receive smiley face magnet in their mailbox

Wednesday:

• During lunch: Smile Paparazzi taking pictures of students smiling and laughing during lunch
• Pictures of students printed and posted for viewing on Thursday
• Funny jokes related to teaching displayed in 6th, 7th and 8th grade workrooms

Thursday:

• During lunch: Free frozen ice pops and raffle announcement
• Caught You Smiling Wall: photos of students smiling and laughing on cafeteria walls
• Teachers receive free ice pop

Friday:

• During lunch: Grade Level Picnic with DJ Bob on blacktop
• Teachers receive stress ball in their mailbox

Thank you so much for supporting our Stress Less, Laugh More event at Poe Middle School.  It was a huge success and the kids enjoyed participating in all of the activities that we did for them.  Teachers/staff are still wearing the buttons that you donated.  We look forward to doing this again next year!!!
