The weather was perfect for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in Washington DC on March 15, 2014 – the venue for JAF’s 5th Annual Running to Remember Josh. Over 30 runners came from 10 states to run and support JAF’s largest fundraiser. Our goal was $30,000 but due to the generosity of all our donors, we have raised almost $45,000!! Obtaining our 501c3 tax-exempt status helped this year as almost $3,000 is from corporate matching donations. More importantly, the news is spreading that we all need to work together to reduce the stigma around teenage mental health and normalize the conversation so that kids will never have to suffer alone. THANK YOU to all who support our crucial mission – the prevention of teenage suicide!
JAF runners met at Corral 20 on Constitution Avenue in the heart of our nation’s capital
No rain and more importantly, no snow!
All ran the half marathon
Runners and supporters with our shirts and flags
National anthem before the 7:30am start
Walking to the metro to get to mile 6
At mile 6 – perfect view for spectators as you can see the runners coming up the hill
Tyler, Lauren and friends powering to the finish
Tailgate for carb re-load
Flags made by Rox and her family
Beautiful sky during our tailgate – would like to think Josh was watching with his signature smirk
THANKS TO ALL THE RUNNERS!
We work to save other young lives…
